Thompson's Station’s Housing History and Character
Thompson's Station was founded in 1866 with the arrival of the railroad and named for Dr. Elijah Thompson; the area is also the site of the March 1863 Battle of Thompson's Station, a Confederate cavalry victory under Nathan Bedford Forrest and Earl Van Dorn. The town did not formally incorporate until 1990.
